These frameworks have not only propelled his own ventures onto the AFR Fast Starts lists but have also been integral to the pedagogy at the BDC program.

Wade Halvorson is a strong advocate and skilled creator of innovative, engaging university courses and corporate learning programs. Experience chairing a university committee on digital learning and consulting to private tertiary education providers on curriculum design, course development and quality assurance frameworks, he has a highly developed and insightful understanding of the Australian and global higher education sector. He is a successful entrepreneur and experienced company director with proven ability in conceptualizing innovative ideas, solving problems and developing well-reasoned and integrated research approaches.

Wade brings to Deakin a wealth of academic achievement, executive experience and entrepreneurial success. Combined with a PhD in E-Commerce, a globally recognized award for innovation in case-study teaching & learning, extensive success in publishing education research and experience in building corporate learning programs, informs Wade’s deep understanding of Tertiary education and the impact of innovation on its development.

She has extensive experience in the tertiary sector, working at Deakin over the last 9 years and prior to that 7 years at Monash, sessional teaching at RMIT and over 15 years at TAFE. Christine teaches in the Accounting capstone unit and in auditing units and researches in audit teams and education.

Christine is a strong proponent of active learning, authentic activities, and assessment. She has won three Vice Chancellor’s awards and an AAUT teaching and learning award.

She is a Chartered Accountant having worked in audit and accounting roles before joining academia.  Over her time at Deakin, Christine has been the Associate Dean, Teaching and Learning in the Faculty of Business and Law (4 years) and the Director of Teaching in the Accounting Department (3 years).

Rob Oliver has over 20 years of experience in financial services across retail, private, corporate and international banking. This includes a diverse range of roles covering risk and compliance, strategy, data analytics, product development and marketing, both in Australia and internationally.

Outside of Banking, Rob has consulted on projects in property, technology, mortgage broking, sports, and education.

Rob has a Master of Commerce from Deakin University, as well as qualifications in economics, data analytics, research, anti-money laundering and marketing.
